The feature enables users to create road trains through the Resource Combinations menu in the Admin module. Users can link up to ten trailers to a selected vehicle (truck) to form a road train. This configuration is then visualized on the Map, showing the vehicle and its connected trailers—and vice versa—as a single coupled unit. See Coupled assets for more information.
When an alarm is triggered, the connected vehicle will also be visualized in the Alarms module.
Add a resource combination #
- In the Admin module > click Resource combinations
. The Resource combincations page is displayed.
- Click Add resource combination. The Add resource combination page is displayed.
- Under General, first select the required vehicle from the dropdown list.
- Next, click the Trailers section. In the Add trailers screen, click the “+” icons to assign trailers to the resource combination and click Done at the bottom of the page.
- You can add up to 10 trailers.
- To create a road train, minimum 1 trailer should be coupled.
- Trailers can be assigned to multiple resource combinations. Trailers that are already assigned are labeled with “In use” in the list of available trailers:
- After assigning trailers, you can reorder the assigned trailers in the resource combination. The first trailer of the list represents the first trailer in the road train and will be displayed as such in the Map module. Reorder the trailers as needed, and click Save. The new resource combinations is added to the list.
Edit a resource combination #
- To edit an existing resource combination, click an item from the list on the Resource combination page. The resource combination details page is displayed.
- Modify the resource combination where needed:
- Vehicle: assign the selected trailers to another vehicle from the list
- Trailers: add or remove trailers from the resource combination
- Trailer order: reorder the trailers in the resource combination by dragging the tiles to the correct position.
- Click Save. The updated information is saved. You can also entirely remove the resource combination by clicking Remove.
Search #
You can search for an asset or trailer using the Search feature. In the Search box, enter the required information. Records matching the search criteria are listed.
Remove a resource combination #
You can remove a resource combination if it is no longer needed. This will only remove the link between the truck and its trailers. The truck and the trailer (assets) will not be removed.
- In the Admin module > click Resource combinations
. The Resource combincations page is displayed.
- Select the checkbox(es) in the overview page and click Remove in the upper right corner.
- The selected resource combination(s) will be removed. The resource combination can also be removed from the edit page (see Edit a resource combination).
