Quotes, bookings and rides #
Travelers represent the end users of our customers. From their standpoint, our solution provides the following core functionalities: register, plan, book, pay, travel and support. Upon booking, the estimated amount is reserved by placing a hold on the card. Funds are transferred when the ride is finished.
When planning a trip, a traveler first explores the options, which we refer to as quotes. Quotes refer to a quick search, as there is no intent yet to book a trip. These include estimated travel time and cost. This stage does not entail the creation of a mobility offer.
The traveler requests the creation of a mobility offer by creating a booking from a selected quote. For each booking, the platform creates a ride, and both booking and ride undergo different state changes in their lifecycles.
