
SCALAR Cargo is the mobile app for truck drivers to be connected to the SCALAR platform. The app is a driver companion that enables communication between driver and dispatcher, helps drivers to complete their day-to-day activities and provides an overview of their driving and resting times. SCALAR Cargo App is supported on Android and iOS.
Getting started #
When adding a driver in the SCALAR platform, access can be granted to the SCALAR mobile app (More information: Add driver).
New drivers will receive an email to create an account. Follow the instructions to create your account and reset the password and then proceed to the installation of the app in the next step.
Installation #
Download and install the app on your mobile device:
Sign in #
After the installation, open the SCALAR Cargo app on your device. The Sign In page is displayed.
On the Sign In page, enter your username and password. Select the preferred language from the language list, and then click Sign in.
Select organization #
A driver might be working for multiple organizations, e.g. as a subcontractor. In that case, the driver can log in for diffferent organizations with the same user credentials (email).
After sign-in, the driver can select the correct organization from the list:

The organization selection screen will only be displayed to drivers who work for multiple organizations.
Link driver to asset #
Next, you can link the SCALAR Cargo app to a vehicle by inserting the tacho card or by manually selecting a vehicle.
Insert tacho card #
Insert the tacho driver card into the tachograph:
In case the app detects the tacho driver card is from another organization, you will need to switch the organization first.
Click the link in the message and you will be redirected to the organization selection screen.

Select vehicle manually #
Manually select a vehicle from the list.
The app will verify whether the vehicle is available for linking and you will be forwarded to the Activities page.
You can also press Skip at the bottom to skip the vehicle selection for now. This will result in limited functionality, but you can select a vehicle at a later stage.
Complete workflow #
Depending on your configuration, the driver may need to answer several questions (= workflow) before signing in or out to provide some basic input to the dispatcher/backoffice user (for example: “Is your vehicle damaged?”, “Are there problems to report?”, …).
In the following cases, a specific “event” is registered and a workflow will be started (if configured):
- Start new driver: a new driver that was not signed in before, is signing in and linked with the asset. The driver linking with the vehicle is different from the previously linked driver.
- Start same driver: the same driver that was signed in previously, is signing in again and linked with the asset.
- End driver: a driver signs out of the Cargo App and is unlinked from the vehicle.
This is an example of a simple question to gather feedback, for example “Are there any problems at the moment?”:

After completing the workflow before signing in, the Activities page is displayed.
Reset password #
You can reset the password if you forget your password.
- On the Sign in page, click the Forgot password link. The Forgot password dialog is displayed.
- Enter the email address to which the link to reset the password will be sent, and then click Reset password. A confirmation message is displayed indicating that the link for password reset is sent to the specified email address.
- Click the Reset Password link contained in the email.

To cancel the password reset operation and go to the Sign in page, use the Return to sign in link.
The link to reset the password is valid only for 72 hours.
Profile #
In the upper-right corner of the screen, click the profile icon (avatar) to:
Switch organization / vehicle #
From the upper-right corner, click the profile icon. The profile information pane displays the currently selected organization and vehicle, if any.

If the driver is active in more than 1 organization, he will be able to select Switch organization/vehicle.
If the driver is active in only 1 organization, he will only be able to select Select vehicle.
If you want to select another vehicle or organization (if active), click Switch organization/vehicle.
Select the organization or vehicle from the list.
You will be unassigned from the current vehicle and reassigned to the new organization/vehicle.

Settings #
From the upper-right corner, click the profile icon. Click Settings to access the Settings screen.

Sign out #
From the upper-right corner, click the profile icon. The account menu is displayed.
Click Sign out. You are signed out of the SCALAR platform.
