An administrator can view the unit subscription details and enable or disable the auto-renewal feature for individual or multiple units on the Units page.
- The unit subscription auto-renewal feature ensures uninterrupted services.
- Only an administrator can access the Units page in the Customer Portal.
View unit subscription details #
The unit details are displayed on the Units page. You can view and manage the auto-renewal settings of the units.
The unit subscription details entered by the Commercial Back Office (CBO) in the Service Portal during the unit on-boarding to SCALAR are displayed in the Units page.
In the Customer Portal module > click Units . The Units page is displayed.

View unit type details #
You can view the unit type details, such as unit status, purchase date, warranty, subscription period, among others.
- In the Customer Portal module > click Units
. The Units page is displayed.
- Click the required record. The unit type details page is displayed.
- If a unit subscription is within the grace period, you can enable auto-renewal of the unit subscription.
- After the unit subscription end date has passed, a grace period of 14 days is given to enable auto-renewal of the subscription to ensure uninterrupted service. After 14 days, the subscription expires and the services are discontinued.
- After the subscription has expired and the grace period is over, you can submit a ticket from the Support Portal module to renew the subscription.
View contract details #
On the Contract details page, you can view contract details: the auto-renewal period and the contract duration.
On the Units page, click Contract details. The Contract details page is displayed.
Auto-renew unit subscriptions #
You can manage the auto-renewal feature (=auto-renew button enabled) for SCALAR units in the following cases:
- Individual units: The auto-renewal button will be enabled when a single SCALAR unit is selected.
- Multiple units: The auto-renewal button will be enabled when multiple SCALAR units are selected, if all selected units have the same auto-renewal status (either all ON or all OFF).

Auto-renew individual unit subscription #
- On the Units page, click the required unit type. The unit type details page is displayed.
- Turn on the Auto-renewal button. A confirmation message is displayed.
- Click Yes. The subscription of the selected unit is renewed.
If Auto-renewal is set to ON, you can end the unit subscription by setting the button to OFF. A confirmation message is displayed. Click Yes to confirm your change.
Auto-renew multiple unit subscriptions #
- On the Units page, select the checkboxes next to the units to be renewed. The auto-renewal option is enabled when units (that qualify based on the criteria specified in the earlier section) are selected.
- Click Auto-renew. A confirmation message is displayed.
- Click Yes. The subscription of the selected units is renewed.
- If the auto-renewal status of the selected units is ON, turn OFF Auto-renew to end the unit subscription. To confirm, click Yes in the confirmation message.
- If multiple unit types are selected on the Units page and you are navigating to another page, the following message is displayed.
Filter units #
On the Units page, you can filter unit records to narrow search results. You can search units based on the unit type, auto-renewal status, and subscription status.
To clear the applied filter criteria, click the Reset link.
Filter by unit type #
- To open the Unit type pane, on the Units page, click Unit Type. The Unit Type pane is displayed.
- Select the checkboxes next to the required unit types. The results matching the selection criteria are displayed.
Filter by auto-renewal status #
- To open the Auto-renewal pane, on the Units page, click Auto-renewal. The Auto-renewal pane is displayed.
- Select the required options. The results matching the selection criteria are displayed.
Filter by subscription status #
- To open the Subscription status pane, on the Units page, click Subscription status. The Subscription status pane is displayed.
- Select the required options. The results matching the selection criteria are displayed.
Customize column view #
You can hide or show columns on the Units page. On the Units page > click Columns. To show or hide columns, from the Column display list, select or clear the checkboxes.
Search unit subscription #
You can search for a unit subscription on the Units page using the Search feature. In the Search box, enter the key words. Records matching the search criteria are listed.
- You can search by unit type, serial number, or paired asset.
- Enter at least three characters to initiate a search operation.
