Service partners and fleet customer organizations can onboard SCALAR units seamlessly either during unit installation through the Fleet Installer from the Workshop module or by linking the unit serial number with assets through the Asset Manager, or through DataHub APIs. These SCALAR functionalities empower fleet customers to independently initiate transfer of unit ownership, streamline operations for resellers thereby enhancing operational efficiencies, and reduce manual dependencies on the Technical support.
A Service Partner is an external organization authorized to access, install, manage, and service units of fleet customer organizations. Service partners are generally third-party providers responsible for delivering technical support, maintenance, and other services related to the communication unit.
Unit onwership can be transferred from the Asset or Workshop modules after a trust relationship is established between the fleet customer organization and the service parnter. For more information, see Unit management and Asset management.
The Workshop module is designed to support unit ownership, installation, inspection, service execution, and collaboration between fleet customer organization and service partners. It provides a centralized workspace where technicians and service providers can manage units efficiently.
After a service partner is onboarded by a fleet customer organization, a Welcome email is sent to the Service partner organization. After the service partner clicks the Go to workshop link from the Welcome email, they are directed to the Workshop module.
A technician, who signs in from the service partner organization that has the service partner feature added, will be able to view the View customer organizations card. Else, they will be able to access only the Unit inspection and more card, to be used while inspecting the customer-owned units.
The service partner must have established the active trust relationship with the fleet customer organization to facilitate unit ownership transfer. For more information, see Unit management and Asset management.
